DIGITAL SKILLS TRAINING FOR NAIROBI YOUTH
The County Government of Nairobi and Moringa School entered into a partnership to providing free introductory digital skills training to youths. The program aims to spark an interest in STEM, equip young people with the skills they need to succeed in the digital age and place tech talent into income generating opportunities.
Through this collaboration, Moringa School has trained 141 youths, 95 Male and 56 female. The topics covered were introduction to computer programs, email etiquette and how the internet works, Learning how to learn, project ideation and presentation, Introduction to the terminal and operating systems, introduction to development tools and editors, file navigation and system tools, introduction to HTML, recap of terminal operations in Ubuntu and HTML deep dive. The County Government of Nairobi and Moringa School aim to bridge the digital divide gap to ensure that more young people in the capital city have the opportunity to develop the skills they need to succeed in the digital economy.
The free digital skills training program is still available to youths between the ages of 18 and 30. They will have access to experienced trainers from Moringa School, who provide hands-on training and mentorship to help build their skills and confidence in the digital field.
