GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES ONLINE APPLICATION PORTAL FOR DIPLOMA TEACHER TRAINING COURSES

Learners who attained a mean grade of C plain in their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education can apply for various diploma teaching courses after the government opened the online application portal for the 32 public Teacher Training Colleges.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu says following the advice of the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms, the government has simplified the entry requirements to enable learners who scored C plain to enroll. About 13,437 students will be enrolled to join the over 30 public Diploma Teacher Training Colleges across the Country.

11,358 slots are available in the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) programme and 2, 081 in the Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) course. Eligible candidates should apply via http://students.kuccps.net on or before July 28, 2023.

 “We have opened the online application for Teacher Training Colleges and we call on learners to apply online, where we target to recruit 13,437 eligible candidates”, announced the Cabinet Secretary.

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Wahome has urged candidates to categorize their applications. “We ask eligible applicants to specify whether they wish to pursue a general course in primary or special education both of which are contained within the portal”, She clarified.
