KENYA HIRING 3500 TVET TUTORS
The Kenyan government is recruiting 3,500 Technical Vocational Education and Training tutors across the country to address the high number of learners seeking vocational training.
Principal Secretary State Department for Technical Vocational Education and Training Dr. Esther Mworia says 2000 will be recruited this financial year while 1500 will be enlisted in the 2025/26 financial year. According to Dr. Mworia the move is in line with the government’s aspiration to use TVET as a foundation for skilled labor force away from the blue-collar mentality.
Principals from Technical Vocational Education and Training colleges in Kenya met for a consultative meeting in Nairobi where they committed to help build a workforce able to respond to any job market in the country. Kenya Associations of Technical Training Institutions chairman David Mwangi lauded the initiative saying the recruitments will bridge the teaching gap experienced in the TVETs across the country. About 145-thousand students have been enlisted to join TVET institutions this year alone.
